Old Main Engines Lifted Off

7th April. Balmoral's main engines were removed today, and both had left Albion Drydock by about 3:30pm. The operation went smoothly with no hiccups. Tomorrow the forward section of the catwalk and the framework comprising the forward parts of the lifting beams and silencer mountings are to be returned to their original positions. Towards the end of this week, or early next week the top of the engine room casing and funnel should also be refitted, as the Grenaa engines don't require as big an aperture to fit through.
